Several medications have long been associated with delirium, but little evidence exists to inform whether acutely or prospectively deprescribing these medications will impact delirium outcomes. This session will address the existing literature and opportunities encompassing clinical care and research at the intersection of deprescribing and delirium by addressing the following objectives:

  1. Discuss the existing relationship between medications and delirium outcomes
  2. Describe prior trials attempting to deprescribe deliriogenic medications in the acute setting
  3. Identify opportunities for deprescribing research that can add value to delirium care
