Description: In this webinar, Professor Sheppard discussed his experience of designing and running trials of antihypertensive deprescribing in UK primary care. The talk discussed the importance of doing RCTs in the field of deprescribing, what worked well and what worked less well. He used examples from the OPTIMISE trial and OPTIMISE-eXtension study, and how these have informed the development of the ongoing OPTIMISE2 trial of antihypertensive deprescribing in primary care.
