Description: This webinar outlined the potential value of N-of-1 trials as an innovative strategy to promote deprescribing (and more broadly, shared decision making). Suitability as a deprescribing intervention, key methodologic considerations, and a case example were presented.
Dr. Goyal is an Associate Professor of Medicine with joint appointments in the Division of Cardiology and the Division of General Internal Medicine. He is the Founding Director of the Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction Program and is the Director of the Cardiac Amyloidosis Program at Weill Cornell Medicine.
Dr. Goyal’s research program is focused on improving outcomes in older adults with heart failure through optimization of medication patterns. His program is supported by grants from the National Institute on Aging, the American Heart Association, the Fan Fox & Leslie R. Samuels Foundation, and the New York Community Trust. Nationally, Dr. Goyal is an active member of the American College of Cardiology, where he currently serves as the Chair of the Geriatric Cardiology Early Career Professionals Working Group. He also serves as the Geriatric Cardiology Section Editor for the Journal of Cardiac Failure, and sits on the Editorial Boards for the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society and JACC-Advances.
